Precision Tooling Blueprinting

Mold Design

You have the part geometry and the shop capacity, but a bad mold layout will ruin your production. We design the tool so you can manufacture with confidence.

Who it's for

For parts that need to release cleanly, every time.

  • You have a validated part and need a mold that demolds cleanly and repeatably.
  • Your current mold causes stuck parts, damaged edges or misaligned halves.
  • You want production-ready mold files to build yourself, or to have us build.

What you get

  • Mold CAD
  • Parting line and demolding design
  • Alignment features
  • Optimization analysis
  • Files in STEP / STL / 3MF, drawings in PDF

Your geometry gets a free review first

Before any design work, we check your part for draft, undercuts, sharp edges and other demolding risks, at no cost. If something needs to change, you'll know before you pay for a mold.

What we need from you

Three inputs to get started.

Part CAD
Your validated part geometry, ideally as STEP.
Process
Infusion, prepreg or wet layup, plus your cure conditions.
Quantities
How many parts the mold needs to produce.

How it works

From geometry to mold CAD.

  1. Geometry review (free). We check draft, undercuts, edges and demolding risk.

  2. Optimization. We suggest modifications and agree the technical direction with you.

  3. Mold design. We design the parting line, flanges, alignment and process-specific features.

  4. Review & approval. You review the design and sign off before files are released or anything is manufactured.

FAQ

Questions about Mold Design

Which processes do you design molds for?

Resin infusion, prepreg and wet layup. Tell us your process and cure conditions so the mold is designed for them.

What do I receive at the end?

Mold CAD in STEP, STL and 3MF, drawings in PDF, and notes on the design decisions that matter for demolding and alignment.

Can you also build the mold?

Yes, see Custom Tooling & Manufacturing. Or take the files to your own supplier: they're production-ready.

What if my part can't be demolded as designed?

That's what the free geometry review is for. We flag the problem and suggest changes before any design work starts.

Who owns the mold design?

Ownership of deliverables is set out in our Terms and confirmed in your quote.

Are my files kept confidential?

Yes. Your files are used only for your project, and an NDA is available on request.
